Since 2003 Onboard logistics has been exhibiting its products.
The most important part of exhibiting is listening to the delegates and the issues they are trying to solve.
This is how our range of products developed over the years.
Our business is to support the airlines to manage their in-flight waste and at the same time create galley space in innovative ways.
Flex-e-Bag, Flex-e-Clip, Flex-e-Drawer and Flex-e-Frame3R are part of a waste management system to support cabin crew in managing cabin waste.
It also helps the cabin crew in creating extra space in the galley area.

Flex-e-Bag

Flex-e-Bag is a disposable plastic bag and frame that converts a meal trolley into a waste trolley after a service has been distributed.
The plastic frame is clipped to one of the top rungs of the trolley.
(It is important to ensure that the frame is clipped to the rung as this gives the plastic bag stability.
The main purpose of the frame is to keep the bag open, not to hold up the waste in the bag.
When placing the bag in the trolley, it is important to have the bottom of the bag sitting on the floor of the trolley.
This controls the weight of the bag as it is filled. When the Flex-e-Bag is full, you can have two options,
Option 1

Remove the Flex-e-Bag from the trolley. The frame can be snapped and seal the bag. Place the bag in a designated place.
Option 2

Push the frame and bag into the trolley and close the door.
On average you can get the disposable contents of three half trolleys into one trolley, thus releasing 2 more trolleys for waste collection.

Flex-e-Clip

Flex-e-Clip is a reusable metal frame for complementing a Flex-e-Bag. The Flex-e-Bag is clipped on to the Flex-e-Clip. This can then be positioned on the back of a half trolley.
The system can be used while the crew are offering a drinks service. As the crew member serves the beverages the passengers can put the waste, they have in the seat pocket
into the Flex-e-Bag without the crew member interfering with the process.

The clipping system can also be used when using a half trolley as a waste trolley. You have your Flex-e-Bag in the trolley and a Flex-e-Bag clipped to the back of the half trolley.
The half trolley is ready for both waste and or waste segregation.

The Flex-e-Clip/Flex-e-Bag is designed to be used in the galley area, thus creating more waste space for galley use. The Flex-e-Clip is clipped to the front of the trolley when parked in the galley opening.
The restraining safety clip can then be put into position. As most galleys have little or no waste space built into the galley, our system solves this issue

Flex-e-Drawer

Flex-e-Drawer is an atlas size plastic drawer. The difference between a standard plastic

drawer and a Flex-e-Drawer is the Flex-e-Drawer can nest into each other when not in use.
This is a perfect way to create space in the galley. At present the cabin crew deliver a service from the trolley holding seven standard drawers
After the distribution of the service the trolleys are parked in the galley and most airlines use waste trolleys to collect in the waste. This is poor usage of the limited galley space.
Using Flex-e-Drawer, you give the service out in the normal manner. When you return the trolley to the galley you can sit the seven drawers into each other and place the nested

Flex-e-Drawers into the bottom of the trolley.
Place a Flex-e-Bag in the trolley and you now have a waste cart. You can create more space in the trolley by nesting the Flex-e-Drawers into an empty standard container.
Flight Kitchens prepare snack type services or second service in advance. From time-to-time trolleys are not available too far in advance. This is not an issue as Flex-e-Drawers can stack on top of each other.
This allows the Flight Kitchen to stow the service on flat bed trolleys waiting for the airline trolleys.
Pre Order retail sales are becoming more popular with passengers. This is a win-win for the airlines as they only carry what is sold and not carrying stock hoping to sell.
Again space can be an issue and limit the number of sales. By using the Flex-e-Drawers to carry these items, when delivered the space is available for further use.
.
Pre-Ordered meals

As with pre order retail sales, pre order premium meals is a growing business. With new technology to support this new concept galley space is the only issue to develop and expand this concept.
Include the cost of the Flex-e-Bag in the overall price of the meals.
Pre- Ordered Retail

Retail sales are becoming more popular with passengers. This is a win-win for the airlines as they only carry what is sold and not carrying stock hoping to sell.
Again space can be an issue and limit the number of sales. By using the Flex-e-Drawers to carry these items, when delivered the space is available for further use by nesting the drawers.

Premium or Restaurant Meals
Like pre order retail sales pre order meals are becoming popular for passengers to buy.
New technology is being developed to support this new concept. Galley space is the only issue to develop and expand the concept.
By using our waste management system how many waste carts could your airline take off to sell more Premium meals or retail sales.
Coming out of the pandemic seats will be more important to airlines than galley space. We have seen of late, the aft galley of the A320
being split in half to facilitate the repositioning of the aft toilet to make room for more seats.
For the last 18 years we have listened to the airline delegates and developed the

Flex-e product range to support the airline industry.

Flex-e-Frame 3R’s

With the emphasis into the future on reducing non reusable plastic products, Flex-e-Frame3Rs was developed.
The frame is like the frame used on Flex-e-Bag, with the exception that Flex-e-Frame3Rs cannot be snapped to close to close the bag.
All other functions of the frame are the same. We named the product Flex-e-Frame3Rs REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE.
REDUCE
—Reduce plastic waste.
REUSE—- Reusable frame.
RECYCLE— At the end of its life the frame can be recycled.

The benefits to the airlines:

Reducing plastic waste as part of the airlines plastic policy.
Reduces costs as the flight kitchen staff assigned to the airline would assemble the product.
Reduces warehouse holding space for assembled Flex-e-Bags.
Reduces transport costs of assembled Flex-e-Bags.
Cabin crew can replace the plastic bag during the flight.
Easy to stow in the galley.
